【摘要】:Testmethodstodeterminebenzeneandthearomaticcontentofgasolinearenecessarytoassessproductqualityandtomeetfuelregulations.Thistestmethodcanbeusedforgasolinesthatcontainoxygenates(alcoholsandethers)asadditives.Ithasbeendeterminedthatthecommonoxygenatesfoundinfinishedgasolinedonotinterferewiththeanalysisofbenzeneandotheraromaticsbythistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofbenzene,toluene,otherspecifiedindividualaromaticcompounds,andtotalaromaticsinfinishedmotorgasoline,includinggasolinescontainingoxygenatedblendingcomponents,bygaschromatography/massspectrometry(GC/MS).1.2Thistestmethodhasbeentestedforthefollowingconcentrationranges,inliquidvolumepercent,forthefollowingaromatics:benzene,0.1to4%;toluene,1to13%;andtotal(C6toC12)aromatics,10to42%.Theround-robinstudydidnottestthemethodforindividualhydrocarbonprocessstreamsinarefinery,suchasreformates,fluidcatalyticcrackednaphthas,andsoforth,usedintheblendingofgasolines.1.3Resultsarereportedtothenearest0.01%forbenzeneand0.1%fortheotheraromaticsbyliquidvolume.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortoitsuse.
