【摘要】:ThispartofISO10993providesguidanceongeneralrequirementsforthedesignoftestsforidentifyingandquantifyingdegradationproductsfromfinishedmetallicmedicaldevicesorcorrespondingmaterialsamplesfinishedasreadyforclinicaluse.Itisapplicableonlytothosedegradationproductsgeneratedbychemicalalterationofthefinishedmetallicdeviceinaninvitroaccelerateddegradationtest.Becauseoftheacceleratednatureofthesetests,thetestresultsmaynotreflecttheimplantormaterialbehaviorinthebody.Thedescribedchemicalmethodologiesareameanstogeneratedegradationproductsforfurtherassessments.ThispartofISO10993isnotapplicabletodegradationproductsinducedbyappliedmechanicalstress.NOTEMechanicallyinduceddegradation,suchaswear,maybecoveredintheappropriateproductspecificstandard.Whereproductgroupstandardsprovideapplicableproductspecificmethodologiesfortheidentificationandquantificationofdegradationproducts,thosestandardsshouldbeconsidered.Becauseofthewiderangeofmetallicmaterialsusedinmedicaldevices,nospecificanalyticaltechniquesareidentifiedforquantifyingthedegradationproducts.Theidentificationoftraceelements(Product Code:SAE AMS5871
