【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribestwoprocedures,AandB,usingthePensky-Martensclosedcuptester,fordeterminingtheflashpointofcombustibleliquids,liquidswithsuspendedsolids,liquidsthattendtoformasurfacefilmunderthetestconditionsandotherliquids.Itisapplicableforliquidswithaflashpointabove40℃.NOTE1Althoughtechnicallykerosineswithaflashpointabove40℃maybetestedusingthisInternationalStandard,itisstandardpracticetotestkerosinesaccordingtoISO13736.Similarly,unusedlubricatingoilsarenormallytestedaccordingtoISO2592ProcedureAisusedforthedeterminationoftheflashpointofpaintsandvarnishesthatdonotformasurfacefilm,unusedlubricatingoilsandotherpetroleumproductsnotcoveredbyProcedureB.ProcedureBisusedforthedeterminationoftheflashpointofresidualfueloils,cutbackbitumens,usedlubricatingoils,liquidsthattendtoformasurfacefilm,liquidswithsuspensionsofsolidsandhighlyviscousmaterialssuchaspolymericsolutionsandadhesives.NOTE2Forthecomparisonoftheflashpointsofusedandunusedlubricatingoils,suchasinalubricantmonitoringscheme,usedlubricatingoilsmaybetestedusingProcedureA.However,theprecisiondataforthesematerialsisonlyvalidforProcedureB.ThisInternationalStandardisnotapplicabletowater-bornepaintsorliquidscontaminatedbytracesofhighlyvolatilematerials.NOTE3Water-bornepaintsmaybetestedusingISO3679LiquidscontaminatedbytracesofhighlyvolatilematerialsmaybetestedusingISO1523orISO3679.NOTE4Precisiondataisonlyvalidfortheflashpointrangesgiveninclause13.
